Life is a funny old thing. Too often we sit back and just get used to what we know and it takes a little bit of out the box thinking to change the things that need to change. Often we don’t see the need for change but when your finger is on the pulse you hopefully pick it up quite quickly.
So, as we do at The Toad, we recently realised that the mozzarella we were being supplied with for pizza’s was changing and to be honest turning our previously famed pizza’s into something less famed just because one ingredient was being poorly supplied (obviously key in this story).
So a couple of days ago I decided to get to grips with the supply chain of Mozzarella in Cape Town and what I unearthed is a world of unknowns, but one certainty – there are very few food distributors out there that understand their customer needs and only a few that when they see a problem come to the fore. So to those that have, well done and it will reap rewards in the future.
Anyway, single handedly we have now got one of the best cheese producers in the world that operate out of Cape Town’s farming areas to supply “A Grade” mozerrella to us because we know our customers deserve it and once again to be honest it is in their best interest also, because soon everyone will realise what we have.
So before everyone follows us please come and give our reaffirmed world class pizza’s a go and let us know what you think, because we want to be the best and will do anything to get there and without listening to our customers it is very hard to acheive success.
