Deo sure is happy now that his exams are finished.  He'll be working full time over the December holidays, so pop down to say hi to The most popular waiter.

Congratulations to Lindi Le roux and Daniel Green on their engagement this past Saturday.  We wish them both well in their future years to come.

With love from the cafe roux staff

We are looking forward to hosting cape point route's 5th birthday party here at cafe roux on Wednesday night.  We don't often get to party on a wednesday...can't wait!

Don't forget our Thursday night braai.  Finally the weather is on our side and we can have some fun with me and mr brown, the famous band that plays on Thursday nights and sunday afternoons.(www.meandmrbrown.com) Check out their website to get an idea of what music they play. Bookings for the braai night are essential-it fills up quickly.

Cafe roux stays open Friday night to host a private 30th birthday party.

What a busy week we have ahead of us.  I wonder what the weekend will bring.

The weather is not great today...icy cold winds, non-stop rain.  The fire is going, so join us for a cosy lunch at Cafe Roux.  Come for a bowl of slow cooked tomato & mascarpone soup or a delicious pasta - penne with seared sirloin strips, julienne veg and a mildly spicy Asian sauce.

Sadly, this means that we have had to call off braai night tonight.  Let's hold thumbs for next week!

Cafe Roux, in the Noordhoek Farm Village, hosted their first-ever Idols singing competition this last weekend.  10 competitors, mostly Noordhoek locals, sang their hearts out to a massive crowd of screaming supporters.  Votes were cast by sms and there were some fabulous prizes up for grabs.

Actress, Mary Steward,  took on the role of MC and the contestants were critiqued by a panel of judges: Lindi Le Roux, from Café Roux, south African singer and songwriter, James Stewart and Seth Rotherham, blogger for 2oceansvibe.com.  The winner was Oli Dresner, from Noordhoek, pictured singing with the backing band, Me and Mr Brown.”

Walter, one of the waiters at Café Roux bought the house down with his rendition of The killers “Human“ and Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”.

He made it into the top 3 and was outstanding – got people dancing on the tables!

We look forward to hosting another round of Cafe Roux idols and showcasing more local talent.

Special thanks to the judges and "Me and Mr Brown" - you can catch them at Cafe Roux braai nights which have started on Thursday evenings for the summer season. Booking essential!

We hate to do this, but due to awful weather we are cancelling tonights braai night.  Come join us next week.

It’s that time of year again…summer has at last arrived!

Braai night will be starting next Thursday the 29th of October.  The braais will be going from 6:30pm.

Me and Mr Brown (www.meandmrbrown.com) will be playing inside the newly renovated restaurant area, next to the bar.

So please come and join us.  Bookings are essential.

Lindi, Paul & Chantal

cafe Roux have re-opened after 10 days of renovations.  Garrick Findlay and his guys worked through the night to ensure we were ready to open on time.  The kitchen has been knocked out into a more open-plan style with a central island to allow for more efficient service on busy days.  The pebbled courtyard between the bar and restaurant area has been formally enclosed and the bar redone ensuring a better flow throughout the space.  This last Sunday, we put the new area to the test and it proved to be an excellent improvement for a rainy day.  The wine flowed and the dance floor was jumping.  A great taste of what lies ahead!

THIS SUNDAY WILL BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT AS DANIEL GREEN IS AWAY. SO TONY BROWNE WILL BE JOINED BY ONE OF OUR LOCALS, BILLY. BILLY WILL BE PLAYING THE ACUISTIC GUITAR AS WELL AS A MASSIVE SIX STRING BASS GUITAR. USUAL SPECIALS AVAILABLE, BREAKFAST CREPE WITH SCRAMBLED EGGS, SMOKED SALMON, AND SPRING ONION TOPPED WITH HOLLANDAISE SAUCE - R44. AND WE WILL HAVE OUR DELICIOUS LAMB SHANK, WITH CREAMY MASH, FINE BEANS AND RED WINE JUS - R88. COME DOWN WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND ENJOY A GLASS OF WINE UNDER THE OAKS.

Help Cafe Roux support tears by dropping off old blankets, unwanted kennels, dog food, cat food and even toys for the less fortunate cats and dogs.
